Earth Observation Excellence Award

Get nominated as the next Award Winner!

Accept your nomination for the ESA-EGU Earth Observation Excellence Award for a chance to receive:

  • Recognition as an outstanding contributor to the innovative use of Earth observation data in the field of science and applied research
  • On-stage visibility at the Award Ceremony during the EGU General Assembly in April 2021
  • Access to the extensive networks of ESA and EGU

 

Nominations can be submitted from 1 September to 2 November 2020.

Process for Nominees

Find someone to nominate you for the EO Excellence Award! You may not nominate yourself.

Please refer to the conditions for Nominators in case you are unsure who might be eligible.

Once a Nominator has suggested you, we will send you a confirmation message with the link to the database.

Complete the nomination with the following information:
  • A Curriculum Vitae (PDF, two pages max). For teams, each member must provide a CV. Please also include a summary of the CV(s), including the name, address, employment history, degree(s) (including dates), research experience, and honours pertaining to each Nominee.
  • An abridged bibliography (PDF, two pages max) from each Nominee. For teams, each member must provide a bibliography. This should be a list of select publications by the Nominee that best support their nomination. It should also briefly state the Nominee’s total number and types of publications and citations. Related images, graphics, animations, or videos that support, explain, or detail the Nominee’s scientific achievements may also be uploaded by the Nominee provided that they have sufficient title or rights to do so.
  • For Teams only: The Team lead must provide a description of the nominated project (two pages max). This description should reflect the Selection Criteria of the Award (see paragraph VI. (1) of the Terms and Conditions).

ESA may change any pre-set dates or schedules as necessary or opportune for ESA and shall update the relevant information here.

In consideration of measures currently in place or implemented in the future for the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak in many countries, including in ESA Member States (hereinafter „Covid- 19 Measures“), which could be subject to change in the course of the application of these Terms and Conditions, the evaluation by ESA may be suspended, delayed or prevented due to one or more Covid-19 Measures. Nevertheless ESA will make its best efforts to execute the Award Program as planned and to mitigate the effect of Covid-19 Measures.
